The club's centennial was commemorated with this kit. Athletic Bilbao's origins trace back to 1898, when pupils from Gymnasium Zamacois established the organization they called Athletic Club, adopting the English form of the word. During 1901, representatives gathered at Café García to formalize the club's structure through the adoption of comprehensive rules and procedures.
