The Portuguese club came onto the pitch in their straightforward black and silver kit, which debuted in the summer of 2020. This was chosen for a very simple purpose: since Ajax were playing at home, they displayed their iconic red and white home colours. Given that Benfica's traditional home kit features red and their alternate kit is white, neither of these choices was available to them.
