A noteworthy issue emerged when Bundesliga officials indicated difficulty reading the red numbers displayed on the shirt's reverse side. In response, Adidas developed this revised Hertha BSC Berlin home kit for the 1999-2000 season, incorporating blank white areas across the arms and torso where sponsorship logos appear. Correspondingly, the back-of-jersey numbers were accompanied by a contrasting white backing panel.
