The Castore Athletic Club 2023-24 away shirt main component is a graphic of a lion, a nod to the Mamés, a saint who wasthrown to the lions by the Romans and did not die, managing to tame the beasts. Instead of attacking him, the animals remained by his side. The Athletic Club Stadium was built next to a site that celebrates San Mamés, that being the reason why the cathedral has said name.
