To align with UEFA regulations, multiple adjustments were necessary. The most noticeable modification concerns the typeface: instead of the bespoke font created exclusively for the kit, which incorporated an ornate design, the typeface displayed in the competition was straightforward black lettering with a crimson border. Moreover, the Daily Paper text positioned beneath the emblems on the jersey and shorts was absent during the UEFA Champions League competition - this follows standard protocol since a single brand's emblem must be the only one featured on each jersey. Additionally, the neckline design element, which similarly carries the Daily Paper branding, was excluded from the kits worn by Liverpool. As reported by Ajaxlife.nl, Ajax had already anticipated that all of these components would contravene UEFA's guidelines yet decided to present the original design regardless. An intentional choice was made to retain all three elements on the jersey for the Eredivisie, where such design features are permitted, and to also offer this variant to fans, complete with the distinctive typeface.
