FC St. Pauli and Puma have released a Sondertrikot (special edition shirt) that takes the Hamburg club back exactly 50 years. The 2026 1974 Kit recreates the design originally worn during the 1973/74 and 1974/75 seasons, making its return in a Bundesliga fixture against Bayern Munich.
The Design
The shirt is built around a brown base with a central white vertical panel, flanked by narrow brown stripes running the full length of the body. White sleeves provide a clean contrast to the heavier brown torso. A white crew collar finishes the construction.
The FC St. Pauli crest sits on the left chest with the Puma logo placed opposite, and Puma branding also appears on the shoulders. The congstar sponsor logo is positioned centrally within the white vertical panel. On the back, "ST. PAULI" spans the upper section with a small "1910" detail sitting just below the collar, maintaining the central stripe layout throughout.
Technically, the jersey uses Puma's dryCELL moisture management technology and is constructed from 100% recycled materials through Puma's RE:FIBRE initiative, excluding trims and decorative elements. The shirt was worn with white shorts and brown socks.
The Story
The original brown-and-white panel design dates back to the 1973/74 season, making this release a genuine 50-year anniversary. St. Pauli refer to it as a Sondertrikot, a term they reserve for shirts with cultural or historical significance beyond the standard seasonal range.
The club also uses the release to support KIEZHELDEN, donating a portion of proceeds to anti-racism projects in the Hamburg Kiez neighbourhood. That combination of football history and social responsibility is very much in keeping with the Millerntor club's identity.
The shirt debuted on 14 April 2026, worn in a Bundesliga home fixture against Bayern Munich.
