Reading Football Club and Macron have unveiled the club's third kit for 2026/27, referencing the strip worn during Reading's 1993-94 Division Two title-winning season.
The design
The new jersey combines yellow and red horizontal bands with irregular, brush-style edges across the front, back and sleeves, with a tonal jacquard pattern running through the fabric in both colours.
Black is introduced through the polo collar and sleeve cuffs, with narrow red edging for contrast. The Reading crest sits in its traditional colours on the left chest, opposite a yellow Macron Hero, and the Mr Vegas shirt sponsor appears in black across the central red band. A crown graphic sits beneath the rear collar, a detail carried across Reading's full 2026-27 kit collection. The kit is completed with black shorts featuring red piping and yellow socks with broad red hoops.
The background
The yellow and red colour combination recalls the third shirt Reading wore during the 1993-94 campaign. The Royals opened that season with a 3-0 win away at Huddersfield Town, with goals from Mick Gooding, Jimmy Quinn and Stuart Lovell, and went on to win the Division Two title, sealing the championship with a 2-0 victory over Brighton & Hove Albion at Elm Park.
