Toulouse FC and rugby club Stade Toulousain have released a joint kit collection with Nike. The project is called Capitolium, named after the Capitole de Toulouse, the city's eighteenth-century neoclassical centrepiece and one of the most recognisable buildings in the south of France. Both clubs wear the same city, the same colours and the same building as their reference point. This collection makes that shared identity visible.
The Design
Both jerseys use a cream base with anthracite detailing. The two shirts are distinct enough to read as belonging to their respective clubs while sharing enough to make the connection between them obvious. Graphic text elements, including the word "CAPITOLIUM" and the Latin name "Palladia Tolosa", the Roman name for Toulouse, are integrated into the fabric of both shirts.
The Toulouse FC version uses a round neck with striped trim. The club badge is applied in a tonal gold finish, placed centrally on the chest. The LP Promotion shirt sponsor sits across the front alongside the Nike logo. Ligue 1 branding is carried on the sleeve.
The Stade Toulousain version uses a shallow V-neck collar. The club badge sits centrally on the chest. The front carries Airbus, Rempart Mutuelle and Peugeot as sponsors. A Top 14 Champions 2025 badge is placed on the sleeve, a reference to the rugby club's title win from last season.
Both shirts are built on lightweight performance fabric with engineered ventilation zones. The collection extends beyond the match jerseys to include matching shorts and warm-up pieces.
The Background
The Capitole de Toulouse was built in 1190 and rebuilt in its current neoclassical form in the eighteenth century. It houses the city hall and the Théâtre du Capitole opera house. The building gives its name to the city's central square, and its facade in cream stone is the visual anchor of central Toulouse. Using it as the design reference for a joint football and rugby kit is a clear and legible idea.
Toulouse FC and Stade Toulousain are the two most prominent clubs in the city. The football club was promoted to Ligue 1 in 2022 and has remained in the top division since. Stade Toulousain is one of the most decorated clubs in European rugby, with multiple Top 14 and Heineken Champions Cup titles. A joint kit project between the two clubs has obvious logic, and the Capitolium concept gives it a shared visual language that works without forcing the two identities together.
The collection was released on 14 April 2026.
