Every summer the Premier League delivers a new wave of shirts, and every summer collectors clear wardrobe space they absolutely do not have. The 2025-26 cycle has been better than most. Here is our verdict.
The Standouts
Arsenal — Home
Adidas have leaned hard into the club's Art Deco heritage with a subtle diamond jacquard across the classic red and white. The tonal cannon embroidered on the chest is a quiet, confident detail, and the collar is a direct callback to the iconic 1989 shirt worn at Anfield. This is what a proper home kit looks like.
Manchester City — Third
Puma's third kit in deep navy with electric gold accents is the kind of shirt that looks better on a hanger than almost anything else in your wardrobe. The geometric pattern, inspired by the mosaics inside the Etihad, gives it genuine design ambition rather than the usual template-with-a-gradient approach.
Brentford — Away
Umbro continue to do their best work outside the top six. Pale sage green with a thin burgundy pinstripe, beautifully restrained badge placement, and a collar that actually suits the shirt. Smaller clubs consistently out-designing the giants is not a new story, but Brentford have made it their own.
The Head-Scratchers
Chelsea — Away
The lime yellow colourway alone would have been divisive. Pairing it with an all-over print described by the manufacturer as "inspired by the King's Road" was a bold decision. It looks like something you would find draped over a sofa in a 1990s sitcom. Collectors will buy it immediately, because of course they will.
Tottenham — Third
There was clearly a brief for a heritage blackcurrant design. Somewhere between the brief and the final product something went wrong. The font is excellent. The rest is a conversation.
The Collectors' Picks
Beyond the headline clubs, some genuinely special shirts have come out of the Championship and League One this cycle. Rotherham United's centenary away in deep claret with a commemorative badge may be the sleeper hit of the entire season. Keep an eye on the secondary market before everyone else catches up.
