Scoreline has released an officially licensed reissue of Portsmouth's home shirt from the 1989 to 1991 seasons. The shirt is available in both short-sleeve and long-sleeve versions.
The design
The shirt uses a royal blue base with a tonal jacquard check pattern woven across the full body. The texture gives the fabric visual depth without adding colour, which is consistent with how the original was constructed.
The collar is a white fold-over with a red pinstripe along the edge, fastened with poppers. The Portsmouth crest sits on the left chest in raised yellow. The Goodmans sponsor is printed in white at the centre chest, and the Scoreline logo appears on the right chest.
Construction details mirror the original, with minimal inner collar stitching and popper fastenings matching the authentic 1989-91 design.
The background
The shirt covers a two-season run for Portsmouth in the old Second Division. It is a recognisable piece of late-1980s English football kit: the jacquard check construction, fold-over collar, and popper fastening are all characteristic of the era and the fabric technology that was standard at the time.
Scoreline has built a catalogue of officially licensed reissues of shirts from the lower tiers of English football, working with clubs whose original kits were produced by smaller manufacturers now out of production. The Portsmouth reissue continues that approach, bringing back a shirt that had no straightforward route back into circulation through the original manufacturer.
