Flamengo and Adidas have released the club's 2026 away jersey. The shirt is built around a deliberately historic reference: the horizontal red and black chest band that featured on the kit worn during Flamengo's 2019 season, when they won both the Copa Libertadores and the Campeonato Brasileiro Série A.
The design
The jersey uses white as its base colour. A horizontal band of red and black crosses the chest, the defining feature of the shirt and the direct callback to 2019. Red Adidas three stripes run along the shoulders, with matching red trim on the sleeve cuffs. The Flamengo crest appears in red on the left chest with a gold star above it. The Adidas logo sits on the right chest.
The full away ensemble pairs the white shirt with black shorts featuring red detailing and the club badge, and white socks. Two versions are available: an Authentic edition with Climacool+ technology for match use, and a replica with standard Climacool technology.
The background
The chest band is not a new idea for Flamengo away kits, but its reappearance in 2026 carries specific weight. The 2019 Copa Libertadores triumph under Jorge Jesus — ending a 38-year wait for the continental title — is one of the most significant moments in the club's modern history. Gabriel Barbosa, Arrascaeta, and Filipe Luís wore that band in the final against River Plate in Lima. Putting it back on the 2026 away kit is a straightforward act of memory.
