Chelsea and Nike have released the home kit for the 2026/27 season on 3 June 2026. The shirt marks 75 years since manager Ted Drake introduced the Blues nickname and the lion emblem to Stamford Bridge.
The design
The shirt uses a royal blue base with a tonal all-over jacquard pattern woven into the fabric. The pattern incorporates an oversized Chelsea crest, including the lion figure and the words "Chelsea Football Club", giving the shirt a layered depth while keeping the overall look clean.
The collar is a fold-over polo style with a single-button placket and "Chelsea" in yellow beneath the neck tape inside the collar. Yellow runs throughout the detailing: the Nike Swoosh, the embroidered club crest on the left chest, the shoulder seams and the side panels all carry the accent colour. The kit is completed with matching blue shorts and white socks featuring a laurel wreath graphic.
The story
In 1952, Ted Drake scrapped the previous Chelsea badge and replaced it with the lion and the pennant, along with the Blues nickname that has defined the club ever since. This shirt uses the anniversary as its design brief, embedding the crest into the fabric rather than treating it as a separate piece of embellishment.
The match version is made entirely from textile waste using Nike Aero-FIT technology with textured ventilation zones. The stadium version uses Nike Dri-FIT for everyday wear.
