Atletico Madrid's 2026/27 Nike away kit: black and volt inspired by Madrid nights

Atletico Madrid have revealed their 2026/27 away shirt, made by Nike. The design pairs a black base with volt accents throughout, a combination Nike describe as inspired by the atmosphere of Madrid's nightlife under the theme "The Heartbeat of Madrid."

The design

The jersey is predominantly black, with volt details applied across the Nike Swoosh, the club crest, sponsor logos, sleeve trim and side panels. A geometric tonal pattern is woven into the fabric for texture across the body. The club crest appears in a simplified volt and black version on the left chest, with a matching volt Nike logo opposite. Ribbed sleeve cuffs and side inserts are finished in volt, and the collar features "Atleti" lettering in volt.

Two versions are available. The Authentic uses Nike Aero-FIT technology with targeted mesh zones for ventilation and temperature regulation. The replica uses Nike Dri-FIT fabric for moisture management. Black shorts and socks with volt branding complete the full strip for La Liga, Copa del Rey, and UEFA Champions League away fixtures.

The story

Atletico's away kits have regularly pushed further from the red and white vertical stripes of the home shirt, and this release continues that pattern. Black has appeared in Atletico's third and away strips periodically, and the volt accent gives this particular shirt a sharp, high-contrast look that reads well under floodlights.

The "Heartbeat of Madrid" concept places the shirt in the context of the city rather than the club's colour history, which gives Nike more room to move. The result is one of the bolder away designs in Atletico's recent catalogue.
